The Directorate General of Immigration, through the South Jakarta Special Class I Non-TPI Immigration Office, has apprehended a Vietnamese national, identified by the initials TAT, for suspected immigration violations. The individual is alleged to have engaged in unauthorised work as a dentist while utilising a Visit Permit (ITK) facility.

According to a press release from South Jakarta Immigration on Monday (8/6/2026), TAT was residing in Indonesia under a Visit Permit. However, during surveillance conducted by officers, he was suspected of abusing his permit by practising dentistry at a clinic located in the Ciputat area.

When the immigration team conducted an inspection at the site, TAT initially claimed to be a patient seeking treatment at the clinic. However, following field examinations and fact-finding by officers, it was revealed that TAT was actually a medical professional providing services at the facility.

TAT was subsequently taken to the South Jakarta Special Class I Non-TPI Immigration Office for further investigation. The examination confirmed that TAT had intentionally used his permit for activities that did not align with the original purpose of the permit’s issuance.

The Head of the South Jakarta Special Class I Non-TPI Immigration Office, Winarko, stated that authorities have taken action by deporting TAT. Winarko also confirmed that TAT’s name has been added to the immigration blacklist.

“This action is a form of our commitment to enforcing immigration laws and ensuring that every foreign national complies with the applicable regulations while within Indonesian territory,” said Winarko.

The deportation of TAT was carried out on Friday, 5 June 2026, via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to Vietnam, following coordination between the Immigration Office and relevant parties. Immigration authorities ensured that the entire law enforcement process was conducted professionally, humanely, responsibly, and in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations.
