Immigration Authorities Crack Down on Thai National Running Illegal Beauty Classes

The North Jakarta Class I TPI Immigration Office has taken action against a Thai national, identified by the initials PD, who is suspected of abusing her stay permit by opening illegal, paid face-lifting (beauty massage technique) classes at a hotel in the Pademangan area, North Jakarta.

“This Thai national is a holder of a Visa Exemption (BVK). The individual is suspected of abusing her stay permit by conducting paid training sessions,” said the Head of the North Jakarta Class I TPI Immigration Office, Rendra Mauliansyah, in Jakarta on Monday.

He stated that the arrest followed immigration surveillance activities regarding the presence and activities of foreign nationals on Tuesday (15/9).

Based on the results of the investigation, the woman, PD, is suspected of misusing her visit visa to provide paid training in face-lifting massage techniques at the location.

“The activities carried out by this Thai national are suspected to be inconsistent with the intended purpose of the stay permit she holds,” Rendra said.

Rendra noted that this finding has become a priority for North Jakarta Immigration officers as part of their efforts to maintain administrative order and enforce immigration laws regarding the presence and activities of foreigners in Indonesia.

The surveillance was conducted as a form of the Immigration Office’s commitment to ensuring that every foreign national complies with immigration regulations while staying within Indonesian territory.

According to Rendra, through continuous immigration monitoring, North Jakarta Immigration continues to strive to create a safe and orderly situation within its jurisdiction.

“This is also to ensure that the presence of foreign nationals provides benefits and remains in accordance with the applicable regulations,” Rendra added.
