Immigration Authorities Arrest 346 Foreign Nationals for Misusing Residence Permits and Involvement in Fictitious Investments
JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Immigration (Ditjen Imigrasi) has secured 346 foreign nationals (WNA) from 36 countries in the simultaneous Operation Wira Waspada conducted across Indonesia from 7-11 April 2026.
“All units of the Directorate General of Immigration successfully secured 346 foreign nationals suspected of committing immigration violations,” said Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, during a press conference at the Immigration office in Jakarta on Monday (13/4/2026).
Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, stated that the operation results showed that hundreds of foreign nationals committed the most violations in the form of misuse of residence permits.
In addition, officers also found other violations such as unreported address changes, lack of valid documents, fictitious investors, and overstaying.
Hendarsam said the foreign nationals caught came from various countries, with the largest number from the People’s Republic of China (183 people), followed by Pakistan (21 people), Nigeria (20 people), Japan (13 people), and several other countries such as Singapore, South Korea, Japan, and India.
He said the Wira Waspada operation was carried out with a comprehensive and data-based approach to ensure effective oversight.
“We continue to encourage improvements in the efficiency and ease of immigration services, but this does not mean there is tolerance for violations. Immigration remains committed to ensuring that oversight is carried out both proactively and responsively, with quick and precise actions in addressing every violation found,” he stated.
