IMI: Toyota car meet can boost automotive MSMEs
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI), Moreno Soeprapto, believes that community events such as the Toyota GR Car Meet 2026 can help boost the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the automotive sector.
According to Moreno, automotive events based on community are not only a gathering place for vehicle enthusiasts, but also open up economic opportunities for modifiers, component suppliers, and the automotive supporting industry.
“Through this event, I hope it can support the automotive industry, modifiers, and MSME-level suppliers, which can also grow and develop together, driving the economy in the automotive sector,” said Moreno at the Toyota GR Car Meet 2026 event in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, Jakarta, Saturday.
He said that the development of the modification and aftermarket industry needs support through regularly held community events so that the national automotive ecosystem continues to develop.
In addition, Moreno also appreciated the role of Toyota Gazoo Racing Indonesia, which he considered consistently participating in various national and international racing events.
“I also appreciate Toyota Gazoo Racing Indonesia for consistently participating in national and international racing events, representing Indonesia,” he said.
It is known that the Toyota GR Car Meet 2026 presents more than 400 Toyota cars with various modification concepts, such as racing, stance, off-road, campervan, to Japanese Domestic Market (JDM).
The event also involves Toyota communities, modifiers, automotive curators, as well as players in the aftermarket and automotive entertainment industries.
Moreno hopes that similar events can continue to be held as a space for collaboration between communities, modification industry players, and vehicle manufacturers.
“I hope that events like this can continue because this meeting is a home for modifications, curators, and community friends,” he said.
