IMI DKI chairman candidate wants Jakarta to become national motorsport barometer

Jakarta (ANTARA) - A candidate for chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) DKI Jakarta wants to make Jakarta the barometer for national motorsport events.

“We want to make IMI DKI Jakarta the barometer of national motorsport through high-standard events, a sustainable athlete development system, and a professional, transparent, and integrity-driven organisation,” said Rudy in a press statement in Jakarta on Friday.

To realise this ambition, Rudy plans to implement flagship programmes such as the construction of a semi-permanent circuit in Jakarta.

He intends to cooperate with the DKI Jakarta provincial government to provide development facilities for motorcycle racers.

“This is for development. We will likely cooperate with the DKI regional government to build a non-permanent circuit, possibly at JIS. There is also a proposal at PIK, because many automotive events such as drag racing and slalom are already being held there,” he said.

In addition, he is targeting the provision of a permanent secretariat for IMI DKI as well as increased efforts to develop racers from an early age and to educate on road safety.

Rudy’s candidacy as chairman of IMI DKI Jakarta is supported by, among others, Banteng Motorsport founder Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, GSrek Indonesia, Dewa United Motorsport CEO Muli Saleh, and former racer Dimas Danindro, a member of the IMI DKI Jakarta board for the 2005-2009 period.

Rudy served as chairman of GSrek Indonesia for the 2015-2023 period, president of Roadgliders from 2022 to the present, and vice president of HOG Indomobil Jakarta Chapter for the 2023-2025 period.

In addition, he is active in communities such as HOG Anak Elang, HOG Jakarta Chapter, Land Rover Club Indonesia, Volkswagen Van Club, HDCI Bekasi, and JK Owner Indonesia.
