IMGI 'graduates' face oral test
JAKARTA: The National Police said on Tuesday they would question 15 degree recipients from the Institut Manajemen Global Indonesia (IMGI) on Wednesday following the arrest of 12 administrators of the unlicensed education institute.
However, National Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Saud Usman Nasution declined to name those that will be quizzed, although it is known that some of the "grads" included a former vice president, former ministers, clerics and a number of retired police officers.
Those found to have used their fake degrees to secure positions or jobs, could be sentenced to up to five years in prison based on the National Education Law, he added.
Based on data from the Directorate General for Higher Education at the Ministry for National Education, Saud said, it was very clear that the IMGI was not authorized to issue any kind of degree. --JP
