Illiza Inaugurated as Coordinator of FKKA 2025-2030

Banda Aceh Mayor Illiza Sa’aduddin Djamal was inaugurated as Coordinator of the Aceh Regency/City Government Communication Forum (FKKA) for the 2025-2026 period on Wednesday (19/8/2026) at Anjong Mon Mata. Illiza and 22 other forum administrators were inaugurated by Deputy Home Affairs Minister Bima Arya based on Decree of the Fourth FKKA Conference Plenary Session Number 1073/Konferensi/FKKA/2026 concerning the Ratification and Inauguration of the FKKA Board of Management for the 2025-2030 Period.

In her remarks, Illiza expressed hope that the forum would be able to realise synergy among regency/city governments in formulating regional policies and that there would be concrete steps that could be implemented together. Among these is the effort to perfect the revision of the Aceh Government Law, particularly to achieve a safer, more peaceful and prosperous society in accordance with Islamic values.

“With this forum, the dissemination of cross-regency/city programmes will be easier to implement,” said Illiza in a statement on Thursday (20/8/2026). She added that if there are regencies/cities that already have good governance or programmes that can be adopted and applied in other regions, this would certainly make things easier.

Deputy Home Affairs Minister Bima Arya said the FKKA is highly strategic for gathering all realities on the ground to be communicated to the central government. “We really need forums that can effectively gather all realities on the ground to be communicated to the centre,” he said. He therefore urged the forum to remain solid and continue dialogue. “So that we at the centre can easily grasp what regional heads are suggesting,” said Bima. He also expressed hope that the forum would not merely become a platform for airing grievances but would become a source of inspiration from good practices across Aceh.
