Illegal vehicles caged in Bogor

JAKARTA (JP): Bogor police have impounded a number of illegal city transit vehicles in an operation launched over the last few days against vehicles not equipped with the proper documents.

Head of the Bogor police office Sjahroeddin ZP was quoted by Antara as saying on Tuesday that most of the illegal vehicles have counterfeit registration numbers or are not equipped with permits for certain routes.

A number of the confiscated vehicles were stolen cars, with modified chassis and serial numbers, he said without giving the total number of the confiscated vehicles.

Due to the number of stolen vehicles operating in the city, Sjahroeddin has ordered his officers to intensify the operation. (hhr)
