Illegal Spouse Kills Wife in Depok; Body Discovered Five Months Later
DEPOK — The skeletal remains of a woman discovered in Meruyung, Limo, Depok are believed to have been deceased since October 2025. According to AKBP Resa Fiardi Marasabessy, the deputy chief of the Crime Directorate’s mobile unit at Jakarta Metro Police, the victim, identified as DH (55), was murdered by her unregistered husband, ARH (44), following a domestic dispute.
“The suspect ARH killed the victim in October 2025 after they quarrelled at his residence,” Resa told Kompas.com on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
The perpetrator covered the victim’s mouth, strangled her, and twisted her neck until she ceased breathing. After killing DH, ARH fled the house, taking the victim’s mobile phone and motorcycle.
The body of DH was discovered five months later by her son, L (28), who had come to clean the house on Saturday, 7 March 2026. L had enlisted the help of his girlfriend, R, who was assigned to clean the bedrooms, including L’s own room. There, she discovered DH’s remains beneath a pile of clothing and carpets.
“R lifted the carpet from the pile of clothing and saw a pair of human feet that had deteriorated to bone and desiccated skin,” Resa explained.
After informing L, they reported the discovery to the authorities. On the following day, Sunday, 8 March 2026, ARH was arrested in the Jatimulya area of Tambun Selatan, Bekasi Regency. He is currently being held at Jakarta Metro Police headquarters for further investigation.
