Illegal Sand Mining in Kediri's Brantas River Raided by Officials

Officials have seized equipment used in illegal sand mining during a raid along the Brantas River in Kediri, East Java, on Thursday (20/8/2026). The operation was carried out to curb mining activity deemed to have the potential to damage the environment and threaten infrastructure around the river. The raid involved the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), the police, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and the Brantas River Basin Authority (BBWS Brantas) under the Directorate General of Water Resources at the Ministry of Public Works.
