Illegal Parking in Ubud, 111 Vehicles Fined or Warned

One hundred and eleven vehicles parked in the Ubud area were ticketed by police. The vehicles were parked indiscriminately along Jalan Link Padang Tegal and Jalan Raya Ubud.

‘The operation, which ran from 10:00 to 11:50 WITA, targeted motorbikes and cars parked illegally,’ Gianyar Police Public Relations Head Ipda Gusti Ngurah Suardita said in a statement, on Thursday (21 May 2026).

The raid was carried out by a joint team of police, Gianyar Department of Transportation personnel (Dishub), and pecalang from the Ubud Desa Adat. As a result, 22 vehicles were issued electronic traffic tickets (ETLE).

Meanwhile, 90 vehicles received warnings in the form of stickers affixed to them. Not a single vehicle was towed or had its tyres deflated.

‘The officers issued warnings and advisories to owners who continued to park their vehicles on the roadway,’ Suardita said.

Suardita said similar operations would continue on an ongoing basis, involving Gianyar Police, Dishub, and pecalang of the Ubud Desa Adat. There is support and appreciation from the community and Ubud leaders as it is deemed effective in helping to reduce congestion in the area’s tourist centre.

‘To create order and comfort for residents and visitors, because the movement of traffic in the Ubud area has historically suffered from congestion,’ he added.
