I have been to Istora Senayan, Central Jakarta, several times
to watch badminton matches or exhibitions. Every time I wanted to
park my car someone always came over to ask for Rp 3,000 (which I
consider too much) in an impolite manner.

When I said I objected to paying that amount, the person
retorted that every car there had to pay that much according to
the regulations; as I departed through the gate, some parking
officials inspected my ticket, demanding additional money as I
had been there for more than an hour.

I adamantly refused to pay any extra because there were no
regulations on the ticket stating that I had to pay more if I
stayed there longer.

Grumbling, they let my car go. I drove slowly out of the area.
I thought they were going to chase after me to force me to pay
the additional fee but they did not. I came to the conclusion
that they had made up their own regulations to pocket money for
themselves. How much money can these people make every day by
extorting others? I have not seen any action taken by the
management to enable visitors to feel safe when parking there.
