Illegal Parking Crackdown Begins: Jakarta Transportation Agency Targets 15 High-Risk Areas
The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has commenced a simultaneous crackdown on illegal parking across various regions of Jakarta, starting Monday (8/6). This measure aims to restore the intended function of roads while suppressing illegal parking practices and the presence of unauthorised parking attendants, which have long been identified as primary causes of traffic congestion.
The Head of Jakarta’s Transportation Agency, Budi Awaluddin, emphasised that the operation will run intensively for a full week until 14 June 2026, involving the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the National Police (Polri), and other relevant agencies.
