JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department has cracked down on 14 two-wheeled vehicles parked illegally on Jalan Melawai Raya, Melawai Ward, Kebayoran Baru Sub-District, on Friday (1/5/2026). The enforcement action was carried out following complaints from residents, particularly shop owners who felt their business activities were disrupted by the illegal parking that blocked part of the yard area. “The large number of two-wheeled vehicles is disrupting business activities. Even after warnings, the violations continue to recur,” said the Operational Controller of the South Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Ebenezer Lumban Tobing, on Friday, quoted from Antara. This crackdown is hoped to serve as a deterrent to prevent similar violations from recurring and to create order for business owners and public facility users. “We, along with related parties, will conduct periodic monitoring in other locations prone to illegal parking. Hopefully, this activity can address the public’s concerns,” Ebenezer stated. “Hopefully, with this crackdown, the area will become more orderly and neat,” said Joko.
