Illegal Parking Attendant Extorting Visitors in Cibodas Tourist Area Arrested by Police

Ahmad Hidayat (48), an illegal parking attendant suspected of conducting extortion in the Cibodas tourist area, has been detained by the police. His actions gained widespread attention after a video of the incident went viral on social media.

“Following up on the viral video, we immediately secured the perpetrator. He is currently being questioned regarding the alleged extortion,” stated Cianjur Police Chief, AKBP A. Alexander Yurikho, to reporters.

According to the Police Chief, the attempted extortion was motivated by economic pressure. “The perpetrator used to work as a driver, but due to a lack of employment, he resorted to these actions,” he explained.

Following the investigation, the perpetrator issued an apology to all affected parties. Regarding the incident, the victims and the perpetrator have agreed to resolve the matter through mediation (musyawarah). While the perpetrator has apologised directly to the victims, the police have imposed a mandatory reporting requirement on him.
