Illegal Goods Worth Rp3.5 Billion Destroyed by Jambi Customs
Officers from the Jambi Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office (KPPBC TMP B) destroyed over four million illegal cigarettes and a range of other illicit imported goods worth around Rp3.5 billion on Wednesday (24/6).
KPPBC TMP B Jambi Head Dafit Kasianto explained that the illegal items were the result of 115 enforcement actions over the past 12 months (June 2025 to May 2026) in the Jambi region, carried out in cooperation with relevant stakeholders.
All the destroyed goods, Dafit noted, had already been designated as state property and received destruction approval from the Minister of Finance via the Director of State Asset Management and the Jambi State Asset and Auction Service Office (KPKNL).
The items included 4,708,484 sticks of illegal cigarettes of various brands, approximately 326 litres of high-alcohol liquor, 300 cartons of canned drinks, 26 cartons of expired creamer milk, as well as 67 used processors, 10 used tablets and laptops, and two used mobile phones.
“This destruction, besides being a manifestation of law enforcement, also serves as a firm message that the state is always present to protect the public from the circulation of illegal goods,” Dafit told reporters in Jambi on Wednesday.
Dafit Kasianto expressed hope that all levels of society in Jambi would actively participate in ridding the region of the penetration of illegal goods.
