Bogor – Bogor Mayor Dedie A Rachim, along with Secretary of the Regional Government Denny Mulyadi, discovered an illegal electricity connection in the drainage channel of the Taman Heulang area, Tanah Sareal, on Tuesday (21/4/2026). The discovery was immediately followed up by contacting PLN to cut off the electricity flow, which is suspected to be used by street vendors (PKL). The finding occurred during a survey by the Bogor City Government (Pemkot) in the Taman Heulang area, while also socialising the reorganisation for culinary street vendors. Upon arriving at Jalan Beo, Dedie and Denny spotted an electricity cable connection in the PKL area and traced its origin. “There is a meter here in the drain, if possible, resolve it today in Heulang, please assist,” said Denny when contacting PLN. About 15 minutes later, PLN officers arrived with complete equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) to disconnect the electricity flow. Based on the findings in the field, there were two illegal electricity boxes. The first box contained a kWh meter connected to the second box across the street. The second box contained a Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) used to distribute electricity to several other PKL. The MCB is known as an automatic device that functions as protection for electrical installations from overloads and short circuits. “That’s an illegal electricity connection. So as long as this illegal electricity connection is still installed, the condition will never stop (enforcement),” said Dedie in Taman Heulang on Tuesday.
