IKN Toll Road Opens at 04:30 WITA to Facilitate Eid Prayer at National Mosque
Penajam Paser Utara (ANTARA) - The IKN toll road will open at 04:30 WITA on Saturday (21/3) to facilitate the smooth conduct of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayer at the National Mosque of IKN in Bumi Harapan Village, Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan Province.
“The toll access will open earlier during Eid al-Fitr, namely at 04:30 WITA, to support the Eid prayer at the National Mosque of IKN, and will continue operating until 18:00 WITA,” said the Head of the East Kalimantan National Road Implementation Centre (BPJN) Yudi Hardiana when asked about the temporary use of the IKN toll road for the public in Sepaku, Penajam Paser Utara, on Friday.
The operation of the IKN motorway is temporarily open to the public from 13-29 March 2026, from 06:00 to 18:00 WITA. However, specifically on 1 Syawal 1447 Hijriah or Saturday (21/3), it will open at 04:30 WITA so that the surrounding community can more easily reach the National Mosque of IKN to perform the Eid al-Fitr prayer.
This adjustment to the operational schedule is a service to the community and supports the implementation of the historic agenda at the National Mosque of IKN, which will hold its first congregational Eid prayer on Saturday (21/3), starting at 06:30 WITA.
The public can access it via the Batakan Stadium area in Balikpapan Timur Subdistrict and Jalan Mukmin Faisal in Balikpapan Selatan Subdistrict.
For safety along the motorway route, the East Kalimantan BPJN is installing street lighting at strategic locations, conducting routine patrols, intensive traffic management, and security posts to monitor traffic conditions in real-time.
“The Eid prayer at the National Mosque is open to all members of the public who wish to worship together,” said the Special Staff to the Head of the IKN Authority for Public Communication and Spokesperson for the IKN Authority, Troy Pantouw.
The IKN Authority provides vehicle parking bags, while the public can park vehicles on the lower floor of the National Mosque and surrounding roads according to instructions from officers if the lower floor parking area is full.
Buses are also prepared to serve the public heading to the National Mosque of IKN from 05:00 to 09:00 WITA, as well as electric vehicles for the elderly, pregnant women, and people with disabilities, to facilitate access to the prayer location.
On Thursday (19/3), crescent moon observation was conducted in IKN as part of the national process to determine the start of the month of Syawal 1447 Hijriah.
