IKN Secures IDR 72.39 Trillion in Investment, F&B Business Begins to Thrive

Economic activity in the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) area is beginning to show new signs of growth. Various business actors, including well-known food and beverage brands, have started to revitalise the region. Amidst this growing economic activity, the IKN Authority has recorded a total estimated investment in Nusantara of IDR 72.39 trillion.

Spokesperson for the IKN Authority, Troy Pantouw, stated that this figure demonstrates the ongoing confidence of investors in the development of IKN. “The total estimated investment figure of IDR 72.39 trillion shows that confidence in IKN continues to progress. The development of Nusantara is the future of Indonesia’s cities; our approach is to collectively build an ecosystem of life, services, housing, and various economic activities for the community,” Troy said on Monday, 18 May 2026.

Of the total value, pure private investment is recorded at IDR 60.29 trillion, while public facilities and assignments from Ministries/Agencies (K/L) contribute IDR 12.10 trillion. The IKN Authority also noted that there are 75 Cooperation Agreements (PKS) involving 65 business actors under the pure private investment scheme.

The involvement of foreign investors is also becoming visible in IKN development projects. Out of the 75 active Cooperation Agreements, 11 originate from overseas investors involving eight companies from six countries. These nations include South Korea, China, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Malaysia, and Singapore. The remaining 64 agreements involve domestic business actors.

“The incoming investments are spread across various strategic sectors, ranging from the construction of housing, infrastructure, energy, accommodation, and sports centres, to commercial facilities,” he added.
