IKN Mosque to Host First Eid Prayer with Khatib from Samarinda
Prof. H. Muhammad Abzar Duraesa, Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin, Adab, and Dakwah at Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris State Islamic University (UIN) Samarinda, who frequently serves as a khatib or delivers sermons, is deemed suitable to be the khatib in Nusantara.
Meanwhile, the imam for the Eid prayer will be Dr. Ahmad Muzakir, a lecturer at PTIQ Jakarta University. The reserve khatib and imam is Dr. M. Aroka Fadli, a lecturer at STAI Al-Muhajirin Purwakarta,” said Troy Pantouw, Spokesperson for the IKN Authority, in Nusantara on Thursday.
Troy, who is also the Special Staff to the Head of the IKN Authority for Public Communications, continued that the Eid prayer is scheduled to begin at 06:30 WITA and is open to the general public who wish to perform the worship together in Indonesia’s new capital, so he invites the public who want to join the congregational Eid prayer to come.
As part of the series of activities for the initial determination of Shawwal, on 19 March, hilal observation will also be conducted in IKN. This observation is part of the national process for determining the start of the month of Shawwal 1447 Hijriah.
“To support the smooth implementation of the Eid prayer, access to the IKN Toll Road leading to the IKN National Mosque area will be opened starting at 04:30 WITA. The public attending the prayer is advised to arrive early and follow the instructions of the on-site officers.
The IKN Authority also provides parking bags for worshippers’ vehicles. The public can park their vehicles in the basement of the National Mosque. If that area is full, parking will be redirected to roads around the National Mosque area according to the directions of the on-site officers.
In addition, in-city shuttle buses will serve trips to the National Mosque via stops at Rusun ASN 1, Rusun ASN 2, Rusun ASN 3, Rusun ASN 4, HPK 1, HPK 2, and Rest Area.
All those routes will transit at the East Axis Roundabout before heading to the National Mosque area to facilitate the mobility of worshippers. The bus service for Eid al-Fitr prayer will operate from 05:00 to 09:00 WITA.
Mobility facilities in the form of golf carts are also provided for groups that need them, such as the elderly, pregnant women, and persons with disabilities, to facilitate access to the prayer location.
“The implementation of the first Eid al-Fitr prayer at the National Mosque marks the increasing liveliness of religious activities in IKN and becomes part of the journey in building the social and cultural ecosystem in Indonesia’s new capital,” he said.
