Construction continues unabated and is not subject to the current budget efficiency policy. Penajam Paser Utara (ANTARA) - The development of the legislative and judicial complex area in the National Capital (IKN), located in parts of Penajam Paser Utara Regency and Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province, is not affected by the ongoing budget efficiency policy. “The construction of the legislative and judicial buildings remains a priority, despite the budget efficiency policy,” stated IKN Authority Head Basuki Hadimuljono when asked about IKN development in Sepaku, Penajam Paser Utara, on Monday. “Construction continues and is not included in the current budget efficiency policy,” he added. Under President Prabowo Subianto’s directives, the target completion for the legislative and judicial complex is 2027-2028. The project encompasses the construction of main state institution buildings, along with supporting infrastructure and area roads. Furthermore, the construction of roads in the legislative area spanning 3.7 kilometres is being prepared to support connectivity between buildings, with the initial stage of land clearing already carried out. The judicial complex is divided into two work packages, covering the Supreme Court building along with its supporting area and the Justice Plaza, as well as the Constitutional Court building, judicial area, and mosque. “The entire judicial area is equipped with area road construction spanning 8 kilometres,” he said.
