IKN Authority Spokesperson Found Dead in Nusantara Flat, Family Speaks Out
The family of Troy Harold Yohanes Pantouw, the spokesperson for the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority, has spoken out following his sudden death. Troy was found deceased in his flat at the ASN Nusantara residential complex. His son, Romeo Matthew Pantouw, revealed the family’s final communication with his father. “For our family, it was very shocking. Even at 00.00 WIB the night before, we had a voice call, a family conference call, because it is our habit to pray together at night. And he still sounded healthy,” Romeo said when met at the Sentosa Funeral Home at Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital in Central Jakarta on Sunday (26/7/2026).
Romeo disclosed that his father had mentioned experiencing flu a few days prior. However, he stressed that the illness was not serious. “Indeed, recently he felt like he had the flu, was feeling unwell, that’s all. There was no serious illness. But we received news that in his sleep, he had stopped breathing,” he said. Romeo also noted that his father had a history of high blood pressure, but it was well managed with daily medication. “Indeed, my late father had a history of high blood pressure. However, the blood pressure was controlled with routine daily medication and it was not actually a serious issue,” he added.
Romeo stated that the family has not yet received definitive information on the exact cause of death. Nevertheless, he believes his father’s passing was natural. “To be honest, we have not yet received the details holistically. But from what we’ve heard, his death was natural, there were no bruises, no signs of oxygen deprivation. Of course, we leave it to the authorities, to the Police and the TNI, I am sure they have worked hard on this case,” he said. It was previously reported that Troy died on Saturday (25/7).
