IKN Authority Special Staff and Spokesperson Troy Pantouw Passes Away

The Special Staff for Public Communication at the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Authority and its Spokesperson, Troy Harold Yohanes Pantouw, has passed away. He died on Saturday (25/7/2026). His body is scheduled to be flown to Jakarta on Sunday (26/7/2026).

The sad news was conveyed via the official Instagram account of the IKN Authority, @ikn_id, and the personal Instagram account of IKN Authority Head Basuki Hadimuljono, @basukihadimuljono.

"We express our deepest condolences on the passing of Troy Harold Yohanes Pantouw, Special Staff to the Head of the IKN Authority for Public Communication," read the statement uploaded by the @ikn_id Instagram account on Saturday.

In the post, the IKN Authority prayed that the deceased would be granted the best place by God Almighty and that the bereaved family would be given fortitude.

Based on circulating information, Troy died at Hermina Hospital in the IKN area on Saturday at around 13.00 WITA. The body will then be taken to Balikpapan before being flown to Jakarta.

Troy was born on 8 May 1968. He was known as a figure who played a role in public communication for the IKN development. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Troy also held the mandate as Head of the Public Communication Sub-Division of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force.

According to information gathered, Troy was a graduate of the Psychology Bachelor’s Programme at the University of 17 August 1945 Surabaya. He then continued his studies, earning a Master of Arts degree in Media and Communication from the University of Central England in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
