Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochammad Irfan Yusuf stated that the 2026 Indonesian Hajj Satisfaction Index (IKLHI) achievement of 83.28 percent, categorised as satisfactory, is proof that the transformation of Hajj services is being felt by the pilgrims. “Alhamdulillah, this year’s Hajj implementation went extraordinarily well. Thank you to the President for the establishment of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. All this time, many have assessed that the organisation of the Hajj has been improving based on field observations,” said Minister Irfan Yusuf in Jakarta on Thursday.

Gus Irfan, as he is known, said that while improvements in the quality of Hajj organisation have often been assessed qualitatively, these improvements are now supported by quantitative data through a survey conducted by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). He noted that this achievement is even more meaningful because it was attained in the first operational year of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah as a new entity. During a transition period of about three to four months, the ministry prepared the Hajj pilgrimage by involving around 7,000 personnel across Indonesia.

“Alhamdulillah, we were able to provide the best possible service to the pilgrims. This is the fruit of prayers and the hard work of all levels,” said Minister Irfan. He expressed his appreciation to all ministry personnel, Hajj officers, and all stakeholders involved in organising the 1447 Hijri/2026 Hajj pilgrimage. However, the Minister stressed that the survey results do not mark the end of improvement efforts. Evaluations will continue, particularly regarding services in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna), as well as strengthening the implementation of health istitha’ah.

“These results are our capital to continue improving. Our challenge is not just to maintain this achievement, but to increase it. Our principle is simple: today must be better than yesterday,” said Minister Irfan. He added that President Prabowo Subianto’s directives serve as a foundation for the future development of Hajj organisation, namely ensuring that the benefits of the Hajj implementation are increasingly felt by the public. One of the ways is by strengthening the use of Indonesian products and consumables in the Hajj supply chain.

Previously, BPS released the overseas IKLHI for the year 1447 Hijri/2026, which recorded a score of 83.28 points, an increase from the previous year’s 81.46 points. “The overseas IKLHI for 2026 reached 83.28 points, an increase compared to 2025,” said BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti. This measurement uses a new methodology applied by BPS starting in 2026 to measure the quality of Hajj organisation more comprehensively, replacing the previously used Indonesian Hajj Pilgrim Satisfaction Index (IKJHI).
