IKKB Board for 2026-2031 Period Officially Installed
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The board of the West Kalimantan Family Association (IKKB) for the 2026-2031 period was officially installed at a hotel in the Cempaka Putih area, Central Jakarta, on Sunday.
The installation ceremony was attended by West Kalimantan Governor Ria Norsan; DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung; Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) of the Republic of Indonesia, Maman Abdurrahman; and General Chairman of the Hanura Party, Osman Sapta Odang (OSO), along with prominent figures from West Kalimantan.
West Kalimantan Governor Ria Norsan placed high hopes on IKKB as a forum uniting ethnic groups in West Kalimantan to continue providing positive contributions to the region and the Indonesian nation.
“I want IKKB to play a role in maintaining the unity of all ethnic groups in West Kalimantan and contributing in various development sectors,” Norsan said in a written statement.
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung congratulated the IKKB board for the 2026-2031 period and hoped they could carry out their mandate well while strengthening synergy with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov).
“I congratulate the new IKKB board. This is not an easy task, but it is very noble. I hope we can synergise and collaborate with the DKI Jakarta Pemprov,” he said.
Pramono also expressed a desire to open opportunities for cooperation between the DKI Jakarta Pemprov and IKKB, including support for organisational development.
“I am ready to help build IKKB facilities in Jakarta,” he stated.
He also highlighted the strategic role of West Kalimantan for Indonesia, particularly in contributing natural resources. Thus, it is hoped that West Kalimantan can continue to increase its fiscal capacity, including through improving regional own-source revenue (PAD).
“I know West Kalimantan has a significant role for this nation. Many natural resources flow to the centre. Hopefully, in the future, its regional budget and PAD can increase,” Pramono said.
General Chairman of IKKB for the 2026-2031 period, Dean Arslan, admitted he would carry out the mandate given to the best of his ability.
“I invite all components from West Kalimantan to continue providing positive contributions in various aspects of life,” he added.
Daily Chairman of IKKB for the 2026-2031 period, Budi Siswanto, expressed appreciation and thanks for the trust given.
He noted that IKKB has existed since 1955, or 61 years old. The West Kalimantan diaspora in the Jabodetabek area, especially Jakarta, is quite large, nearly over 100,000.
“More than 90 percent of them hold DKI Jakarta ID cards. That means they have common interests on one side, without leaving their regional culture, but also as Jakarta residents, as previously conveyed, mandated by our parents, Mr Osman Sapta Odang,” he explained.
He wants IKKB to continue providing positive contributions to development and supporting the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
“And do not forget to continue contributing what can be synergised to build the homeland in West Kalimantan,” he clarified.
He assured that after this installation, the IKKB board will hold a working meeting to consolidate all work areas.
“Of course, it is very proud that the representation of the board from three major ethnic groups, Chinese, Dayak, and Malay, have all committed and agreed to build West Kalimantan through the IKKB forum,” Budi said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian West Kalimantan Chinese Association, Yordanus (Djong Se Min), emphasised that IKKB is a hope as a forum for synergy and collaboration.
“Let us collaborate to continue advancing West Kalimantan. For that, it is very important for us to continue nurturing unity,” he stated.
