Ikea recalls RI-made teddy bears
WASHINGTON: Ikea Corp. is recalling teddy bears because plastic beads inside the bears could come out, posing a hazard to young children who might accidentally inhale them.
The Swedish furniture company has sold more than 1 million of the roughly 10 centimeter tall toy worldwide, including 57,200 in the United States.
Ikea, with U.S. operations based in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, has not received any reports of incidents, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Thursday.
The recalled bears are red, yellow, blue and black and are about 15 centimeters tall. The bears have the name "SNUTTIG" on the product label, along with model number 700-371-56, manufacturer code 17596 and the words "Made in Indonesia." -- AFP
