IKALUIN Jakarta to Hold 2026 Award Ceremony Honouring Alumni Contributions
The Central Board of the Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta Alumni Association (IKALUIN Jakarta) will hold the peak ceremony of the IKALUIN Award 2026 with the theme “Inspiring Legacy, Empowering Nation” as a form of appreciation for alumni contributions that have had a real impact on society, the nation, and the world. The peak ceremony will take place on Saturday, 20 June 2026, from 13.00 to 16.00 WIB, at the Harun Nasution Auditorium, Campus I of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
The IKALUIN Award is a biennial award programme organised by the Central Board of IKALUIN Jakarta to honour alumni of the Academy of Religious Sciences (ADIA), the State Islamic Institute (IAIN), and the State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta who have demonstrated dedication, achievement, and outstanding contributions in various fields of life. The 2026 edition marks the third iteration following successful events in 2022 and 2024. As the organisation’s flagship programme, the IKALUIN Award serves not only as a space to appreciate accomplished alumni but also as a means to document, introduce, and strengthen the contributions of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta alumni in the development of society, the nation, and the world.
General Chair of the Central Board of IKALUIN Jakarta, Ace Hasan Syadzily, affirmed that this award is a form of recognition for the tangible contributions of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta alumni who have worked and served in various fields. “IKALUIN Award 2026 is a form of recognition and appreciation for alumni of ADIA, IAIN, and UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta who have provided real impact and contributions to society, the nation, and the world. Alumni have been present and active in various strategic sectors, ranging from education, religious thought, community empowerment, governance, culture, to various international forums,” said Ace Hasan Syadzily in a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday (18/6).
Ace, who also serves as Governor of the National Resilience Institute of the Republic of Indonesia (Lemhannas RI), stated that the award emphasises the contributions of cross-generational alumni who provide inspiration and benefits to society at various levels, whether local, national, or international. “The IKALUIN Award is not only a space to honour inspirational individuals but also a momentum to strengthen alumni networks, build collaboration, and affirm the contribution of UIN Jakarta alumni to the progress of the nation and world civilisation,” he said. According to Ace, this award also represents the values that form the foundation of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, namely Islamic values, scholarship, Indonesian identity, innovation, sustainability, and humanity. “This award is not merely a celebration of individual achievements, but a representation of the noble values that have been the spirit of education and service of UIN Jakarta alumni,” Ace stated.
Meanwhile, Daily Chair of the Central Board of IKALUIN Jakarta, Badrusalam, outlined six main objectives for the 2026 award. First, to appreciate dedicated alumni who have made a major impact in their fields. Second, to highlight alumni contributions to inspire society and the younger generation. Third, to encourage the emergence of exemplary figures who provide positive impacts for society, the nation, and the state. Fourth, to document the work of alumni across sectors and generations. Fifth, to strengthen alumni networks as a social and intellectual asset of the nation. Sixth, to enhance the reputation of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta at national and international levels. “The organisation of IKALUIN Award 2026 is based on the values of integrity, moderation and tolerance, inclusivity and diversity, professionalism and accountability, scholarship supported by innovation and novelty, as well as service and benefit to society,” said Badrusalam.
Chair of the Organising Committee for IKALUIN Award 2026, Rahmat Hidayatullah, explained that awards are given in nine main categories: Community Empowerment, Education, Gender Equality and Child Protection, Environment and Climate Change, Religious Thought, Law and Human Rights, Politics and Governance, Arts and Culture, and Young Hero (Influential Youth). Additionally, there is one special category, the Lifetime Achievement Award. Rahmat stated that the nomination process ran from 20 April to 5 June 2026. During that period, the committee received hundreds of nominations from the public, communities, organisations, institutions, and alumni networks from various regions in Indonesia. “All submitted nominations then went through a process of verification, administrative selection, curation, expert panels, and final assessment by the Board of Judges. The process was designed to ensure that each candidate was assessed objectively, professionally, and based on their track record of contributions,” said Rahmat. According to Rahmat, the quality of candidates reaching the final assessment stage demonstrates the breadth of work and contributions of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta alumni in various fields of life. “All candidates who reached the final stage are figures with very strong track records, achievements, works, and dedication. Many of them have made important contributions not only at the local and national levels but also at regional and international levels,” he said. He added that in several categories, the candidates were of relatively equal quality, making the plenary session of the Board of Judges dynamic and in-depth.
