IKA ITS Jakarta Raya Prepares Leadership Regeneration Through 8th Youth Leadership Camp

The Ikatan Alumni Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (IKA ITS) Jakarta Raya chapter is preparing adaptive, collaborative, and high-integrity leadership regeneration through the 8th Youth Leadership Camp (YLC) at the PLN Training Centre in Cibogo, Bogor. IKA ITS Jakarta Raya Chairman Kusdi Widodo stated that YLC is a strategic investment by the organisation to produce leadership cadres who are not only successful in their professional careers but also have a concern for building the organisation, strengthening alumni networks, and contributing to their alma mater, the nation, and society. ‘We want to produce alumni who are not only successful in their professional careers, but also have the concern to build the organisation, strengthen alumni networks, and make real contributions to the alma mater, the nation, and society,’ Kusdi said in a written statement in Jakarta on Monday. He noted that the programme’s success is not measured by the end of the training, but by the positive impact participants generate after returning to their respective work environments and organisations. The 8th YLC carries the theme ‘Trusted Follower, Influential Leader’ and marks the culmination of a leadership regeneration process that lasted nearly five months. The programme was designed in stages, starting from character building as a value creator, developing an executive mindset, professional assignments, to building the character of a trusted follower as the foundation of leadership. ITS Vice Rector IV for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Alumni, Agus Muhamad Hatta, said alumni are a strategic asset for higher education in strengthening the national innovation ecosystem through collaboration with industry, government, and society. ‘Alumni are not merely a representation of ITS’s success, but strategic partners in accelerating innovation, expanding collaboration, and enhancing the contribution of higher education to Indonesia,’ he said. Meanwhile, IKA ITS Jakarta Raya Head of Organisational Development and Cooperation, Muhsin Budiono Nurhadi, stated that the organisation needs more trusted followers, individuals who can think critically, communicate healthily, and provide constructive support to leaders. ‘Leadership and followership are not contradictory. Strong leadership is actually born from the ability to be a trusted follower, capable of exerting positive influence and building team success together,’ said Muhsin, who also serves as Assistant Manager of Quality Control at PT Pertamina Lubricants. PT Indoturbine President Director Deni Budi Kurnianto, who is also the Third Daily Chairman of IKA ITS Jakarta Raya, added that industrial transformation driven by digitalisation, artificial intelligence, and automation demands the emergence of leaders who are adaptive, innovative, and able to build cross-disciplinary collaboration. YLC 8 Steering Committee Coordinator Iwan Setiawan said the diversity of participants, coming from ministries, state-owned enterprises, private companies, consultancies, and entrepreneurial backgrounds, is the programme’s main strength as it enriches leadership perspectives across professions. At the closing ceremony, IKA ITS Jakarta Raya Board of Experts Secretary Dzulfikar Arifuddin encouraged participants to make the networks formed during YLC a foundation for sustainable collaboration among ITS graduates. IKA ITS Jakarta Raya also awarded the best participants of YLC 8 Session 3 to M Abd Rozzaq Khaidhor and Nur Hafidzah Oktavia for their dedication, leadership, collaborative spirit, and participation throughout the programme. ‘Make the entire YLC-8 series a process of getting to know each other, understanding each other, trusting each other, and connecting with each other. This momentum must be the initial milestone for the birth of cross-professional synergy and collaboration that can provide wider benefits,’ concluded Dzulfikar Arifuddin, who also served on the YLC-8 Steering Committee.
