IITELMIT timed with G-15 summit

JAKARTA (JP): This year's Indonesian International
Telecommunications, Media and Information Technology (IITELMIT)
exhibition will be held in May concurrently with the summit of
the Group of 15 developing countries (G-15) in Jakarta.

Organizers of IITELMIT 2001 said on Friday the five-day
exhibition from May 27 to May 31 expects to have participants
from 60 countries.

Baki Lee, project executive with PT Rantai Expo International,
said the exhibition is expected to see transactions amounting to
US$400 million.

The first such exhibition last year saw transactions of $200
million and participants from 35 countries, he said.

One of the topics of discussion at the 11th G-15 summit, now
comprising 19 countries, will be the digital divide.

The IITELMIT organizers also plan to hold an Internet world
conference. (03)
