IIMS Surabaya 2026 Signals Optimism for East Java's Automotive Industry
Surabaya - The International Indonesia Motor Show (IIMS) Surabaya 2026 is being held again at Grand City Surabaya, bringing renewed momentum to East Java’s automotive industry.
Beyond showcasing the latest vehicles, the annual exhibition offers a comprehensive entertainment experience through the IIMS Infinite Live music programme.
Over six days from Tuesday, 26 May to Sunday, 31 May 2026, visitors can enjoy innovations in both two- and four-wheeled vehicles alongside live music concerts as part of a single event.
This concept brings IIMS Surabaya 2026 closer to the public, creating a multi-generational entertainment space for automotive enthusiasts.
Public enthusiasm is bolstered by relatively affordable ticket prices. Regular exhibition tickets start at Rp 10,000 for access to the automotive exhibition area, while IIMS Infinite Live day passes are priced at Rp 75,000 and weekend two-day tickets at Rp 125,000.
“IIMS Surabaya is not just a venue for vehicle and technology exhibitions,” he said during the opening remarks.
He added that the exhibition is a crucial opportunity to bolster business confidence in East Java’s industrial sector, which continues to show positive growth.
He explained that East Java’s economy grew by 5.96% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026, surpassing the national average of 5.61%.
Additionally, East Java is the second-largest contributor to Java’s economy with a 25.16% share and accounts for 14.40% of Indonesia’s national GDP.
“These figures are not just numbers but reflect the hard work of East Java’s entire community and business sector,” said Iwan.
This diverse economic structure makes East Java better equipped to withstand global geopolitical and geo-economic pressures.
The manufacturing sector contributes 31.45% to East Java’s economy, followed by trade at 18.77% and agriculture at 10.51%.
On the trade front, Iwan noted that East Java’s trade performance has shown positive trends, with a surplus of Rp210.1 trillion in 2025 and a further surplus of Rp54.25 trillion in the first quarter of 2026.
