IIMS Surabaya 2026 Officially Opens, Reviving East Java's Automotive Sector
Surabaya - The annual International Indonesia Motor Show (IIMS) Surabaya 2026 officially opened to the public on Tuesday (26 May 2026) at Grand City Convex Surabaya.
The exhibition, running until 31 May 2026, has once again become a magnet for East Java’s automotive enthusiasts, featuring dozens of four- and two-wheeled vehicle brands alongside musical entertainment and interactive programmes.
With affordable ticket prices, regular exhibition tickets are priced at Rp10,000 for access to the automotive exhibition area, while the Infinite Live one-day ticket costs Rp75,000 and a two-day weekend pass is Rp125,000.
The event also brings a breath of fresh air to East Java’s automotive market. Amidst the green energy transition trend and global economic dynamics, the show presents significant opportunities for industry players to showcase the latest innovations and bring vehicle technology closer to the public.
Not only a venue for launching new technologies and vehicles, the exhibition is also expected to boost regional economic growth despite global market challenges.
East Java Provincial Industry and Trade Department Head Iwan officially opened the event alongside organisers and sponsors. He views IIMS Surabaya not merely as an automotive festival but as a crucial component in strengthening the industry and business sector in East Java.
‘On behalf of the East Java Provincial Government, we extend our highest appreciation to all organisers, business actors, investors, automotive communities, and all parties who have contributed to this strategic event,’ Iwan said during his speech.
He emphasised that the exhibition is a pivotal moment to strengthen the automotive industry ecosystem and expand markets.
‘And to boost business confidence amid global economic fluctuations,’ he added.
Meanwhile, Dyandra Promosindo President Director Daswar Marpaung stated that the automotive industry is closely linked to national and regional economic growth.
‘The automotive industry is one of the key drivers for the national economy and East Java, particularly Surabaya. This is the foundation for Dyandra Promosindo to bring back the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) to Surabaya,’ said Daswar, as he is commonly known.
This year’s IIMS Surabaya 2026 is grander than previous editions, with an expanded exhibition area of 12,388 square metres and a longer duration. A total of 40 vehicle brands are participating.
He hopes the event will not only serve as an automotive transaction hub but also directly impact local economic activity.
‘And inclusive, sustainable regional economic growth,’ he concluded.
