The Indonesia International Motor Show 2026 (IIMS 2026) concluded with impressive results. The annual automotive exhibition recorded total transactions of Rp9.5 trillion, an increase of 18.75 per cent compared to the previous year’s performance of around Rp8 trillion.

This transaction surge indicates that consumer purchasing power for automotive products remains robust, even amid global economic dynamics. Rudi MF, Project Manager of IIMS 2026, stated that the figure represents a recap of transactions during the exhibition period.

“The current transaction recap has reached Rp9.5 trillion,” Rudi said during the IIMS 2026 evaluation presentation in Jakarta on Thursday (12 March 2026).

Beyond the sharp increase in transaction value, visitor numbers also demonstrated high stability. Throughout the exhibition, IIMS 2026 attracted 580,250 visitors, a slight increase of 0.16 per cent compared to 2025’s figure of 579,337 people.

Electric vehicles grow at fastest rate

The main highlight of IIMS 2026 came from the surge in electric vehicle sales. The electric car category recorded sales growth of 31.83 per cent compared to the previous year.

However, the most striking growth occurred in the two-wheeler electric segment. Electric motorcycle sales surged 96.54 per cent, nearly doubling compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, other vehicle sectors also recorded positive growth. Conventional car sales rose 15.91 per cent, whilst conventional motorcycle sales grew significantly by 67.90 per cent.

The data demonstrates that whilst electric vehicles are increasingly favoured, the conventional vehicle market remains strong in Indonesia.
