IIGCE 2026 to Discuss Accelerating Geothermal to Support Indonesia's Energy Transition

The Indonesian Geothermal Association (Inaga) will hold the 12th Indonesia International Geothermal Convention and Exhibition (IIGCE) on 19–21 August 2026 in Jakarta to discuss the acceleration of geothermal development in support of the national energy transition and security.

Inaga Chairman Julfi Hadi said geothermal development requires technological and financial support as well as stronger coordination among stakeholders.

“Accelerating geothermal energy development depends not only on technological sophistication and funding, but also on the solidarity of the stakeholders driving it,” Julfi said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.

IIGCE 2026 will take place at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) under the theme “Energy Self-Sufficiency for a Stronger Indonesia: Geothermal as the Baseload Driving Energy Transition and Security.”

According to the official IIGCE agenda, President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to deliver a keynote address during the opening ceremony on 19 August.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia is also scheduled to deliver a report at the opening session.

In addition, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming as well as CEO of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) Rosan Roeslani is scheduled to be a keynote speaker in a plenary session titled “Geothermal for National Energy Self-Independence.”
