IHSG Suddenly Rebounds as Foreign Investors Quietly Accumulate These Stocks
In the midst of aggregate net selling activity, foreign investors continued selective buying in several stocks, with notable net buys in a number of issuers, particularly in the energy and telecommunications sectors.
Overall, foreigners recorded a net sell of Rp 165.5 billion on Wednesday (1/4/2026), down from Rp 1.28 trillion the previous day.
Shares of PT Darma Henwa Tbk. (DEWA) were the most heavily accumulated by foreigners, with a net buy value of Rp 106.2 billion.
In second place, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (TLKM) recorded a net buy of Rp 93.8 billion, followed by PT Bumi Resources Tbk. (BUMI) at Rp 79.9 billion.

Meanwhile, the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) closed up nearly 2% or 136.22 points at 7,184.44. A total of 494 stocks rose, 224 fell, and 240 were unchanged. Trading value picked up today, though it still did not match the average daily trading value at the start of the year.
The trading value was recorded at Rp 16.44 trillion, involving 29.99 billion shares in 1.99 million transactions. Market capitalisation rose to Rp 12,650 trillion.
According to Refinitiv, all sectors were in the green. Utilities, basic materials, and non-primary consumer goods led the gains, rising 4%, 3.66%, and 3.09% respectively.
Several conglomerate stocks supported the IHSG. Impack Pratama (IMPC), which rose 21.6% and contributed 10.17 points, was the stock with the largest weight.
This was followed by Telkom (TLKM) contributing 9.48 points, Barito Renewables Energy (BREN) 9.26 points, Dian Swastatika Sentosa (DSSA) 8.95 points, and Bumi Resources Minerals (BRMS) 7.48 points.
