IHSG strengthens, government proposes Rp815 billion for electric stove programme
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) composite index (IHSG) closed higher on Monday, rising 247.31 points or 4.12 percent to 6,254.97, as global crude oil prices corrected following a peace agreement between the United States and Iran. The LQ45 index of top 45 stocks also gained 4.56 points, or 27.23 percent, to 624.68.
President Prabowo Subianto has invited Germany to expand investment in various strategic sectors in Indonesia, including the development of critical minerals and rare earth elements, which are essential components for the technology industry and the global energy transition. The invitation was conveyed during a joint press statement with German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at Merdeka Palace on Monday. Prabowo noted that both nations have significant opportunities to deepen investment partnerships in future-oriented sectors that support sustainable economic growth.
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has committed to maintaining fiscal stability while ensuring support for the implementation of various 2027 National Priorities. Speaking at a working meeting with the House of Representatives’ Commission XI in Jakarta, Purbaya stated that the Ministry of Finance will continue to safeguard fiscal performance to drive higher economic growth through strategic measures, including optimising revenue, ensuring quality spending, and pursuing innovative financing.
State-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is focusing on technical testing of B50 biodiesel fuel to assess its impact on engine performance, fuel consumption, emissions, and rolling stock durability. Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba said the fuel transition is being carried out in stages with technical coordination involving the government and relevant agencies to ensure safety, operational reliability, and smooth transport services.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia has proposed a budget allocation of Rp815.56 billion in the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN) for an electric stove programme. The initiative aims to reduce Indonesia’s dependence on imported liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Bahlil told a working meeting with the House of Representatives’ Commission XII at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta that the government is promoting not only LPG but also electric stoves, compressed natural gas (CNG), and other alternatives.
