IHSG Slumps in Morning Session as Pressure from Big Cap Stocks Halts Gains
JAKARTA - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) weakened at the close of the first trading session on Tuesday (28/4/2026). The index fell 10.939 points or 0.15 percent to the level of 7,095.582.
Index movements tended to be limited. Driving stocks rose and fell simultaneously.
Barito group shares temporarily provided a boost. PT Petrosea Tbk (PTRO) rose 7.1 percent. PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) strengthened 4.5 percent. This increase was not yet sufficient to lift the index overall.
Sectorally, weakness occurred across almost all lines. Nine out of 11 sectors declined until the midday break. The non-cyclical and infrastructure sectors recorded the deepest declines, at 1.19 percent and 0.72 percent respectively.
Global sentiment has not provided support. The majority of Asian exchanges moved in the red zone. Market participants are still monitoring developments on the peace proposal from Iran.

At the midday break, the IHSG held at the level of 7,095. The index once touched a low of 7,032.
Trading activity was observed to be brisk. Volume reached 17.17 billion shares. Transaction value was recorded at Rp8.59 trillion. Transaction frequency reached 1.26 million times.
Pressure still dominated. As many as 340 stocks weakened. As many as 312 stocks strengthened. As many as 161 stocks were stagnant.
