IHSG Slumps 7.89 Percent Over the Week, Market Capitalisation Drops to Rp 13,627 Trillion
The Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) recorded that trading activity in the capital market over the week 2-6 March 2026 tended to close weaker.
According to BEI’s official statement, Sunday 8 March 2026, the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) fell 7.89 percent over the week to 7,585.68 from the previous week’s level of 8,235.48.
In line with the IHSG weakness, market capitalisation also declined by 7.85 percent to Rp 13,627 trillion, from Rp 14,787 trillion in the previous week.
Average daily trading volume on the bourse fell by 17 percent to 42.34 billion shares, from 51.02 billion shares in the previous week.
Average daily transaction value also dropped 16.64 percent during the period, with a transaction value of Rp 24.97 trillion, down from Rp 29.95 trillion in the previous week.
Meanwhile, foreign investor activity for the week recorded a net selling of Rp 263 billion.
Thus, cumulatively in 2026, foreign investors have registered a net selling of Rp 7.29 trillion.
