IHSG slides 4.32% in Session I, all sectors and LQ45 stocks in the red

Jakarta — The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) fell sharply in the first trading session on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. The IHSG slid 4.32 percent, or 343.19 points, to 7,596.57. The movement briefly plunged to around 7,858 while the intraday high reached 7,898. Turnover was Rp 17.99 trillion with total trades around 2.07 million. The correction was broad-based across almost all sectors. The deepest decline was in the basic materials sector, down 8.03 percent; the transportation sector tumbled 6.80 percent and the consumer cyclicals sector weakened 5.60 percent. Technically, Phintraco Sekuritas analysts noted the index closed below the intraday MA5 and MA20, indicating a short-term momentum weakness reinforced by the MACD indicator showing the formation and widening of a negative histogram, signaling that selling pressure remains relatively dominant. ‘Considering the combination of these technical factors, IHSG movement in the second session is expected to remain in a consolidation phase with a limited range around 7,575-7,600 in the second trading session today,’ the Phintraco Sekuritas team said in its daily research note on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. All constituents in the 45 leading stocks (LQ45) were under pressure and none posted positive results. AMMN shares fell 10.26 percent, INKP dropped 10.16 percent and MBMA lost 9.74 percent. Nevertheless, other stocks managed to post gains. Here are the top five gainers, according to Stockbit data: SOTS (PT Satria Mega Kencana Tbk) rose 24.59 percent or 225 points to 1,140. IFSH (PT Ifishdeco Tbk) gained 22.69 percent or 590 points to 3,190. MASB (PT Bank Multiarta Sentosa Tbk) climbed 22.62 percent or 690 points to 3,740. SULI (PT SLJ Global Tbk) rose 14.68 percent or 16 points to 125. BRRC (PT Raja Roti Cemerlang Tbk) climbed 13.40 percent or 13 points to 110.
