IHSG Second Semester: Room for Recovery After a Dark Chapter
After being battered by foreign selling, a weakening rupiah, and the threat of a downgrade by MSCI in the first six months of the year, the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) has a chance to reverse course in the second semester. However, this is conditional on no new surprises emerging from either domestic or international fronts. By the close of trading on Friday (26/6), the IHSG settled at 5,896.13, having weakened by 31.81% since the beginning of the year. This correction made the IHSG one of the worst-performing stock exchanges in the world throughout 2026.
