Foreign investors recorded net buying in the Indonesian stock market during the first trading session on Tuesday (18/8/2026), coinciding with a 1.27% strengthening of the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) to 6,482.99.

Based on data from Stockbit Sekuritas, foreign investors recorded purchases of Rp2.22 trillion and sales of Rp2.11 trillion. As a result, foreign investors posted a net buy of Rp112.88 billion across the entire market.

A number of shares were the main targets of foreign investor buying. Shares of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) recorded the largest net buy, reaching Rp98.37 billion.

In the following positions were PT Aneka Tambang (Persero) Tbk (ANTM) with a net buy of Rp62.35 billion, PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) at Rp56.47 billion, PT Merdeka Gold Resources Tbk (EMAS) at Rp31.27 billion, and PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) at Rp30.77 billion.

However, the buying was offset by selling pressure on a number of shares. The largest foreign net sell was recorded in PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT) at Rp131.31 billion.

Furthermore, foreign investors sold shares of PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA) with a net sell of Rp88.07 billion and PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) at Rp81.53 billion.

Another banking stock, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), also recorded a foreign net sell of Rp55.55 billion. Meanwhile, PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) experienced a net sell of Rp31.80 billion.
