IHSG Rises 0.8% Today, Closing Near Daily High
The Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG) closed stronger in trading on Friday (31/7/2026), supported by a rally in commodity and property stocks, even though foreign investors recorded net selling across the market during the first session.
According to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), the IHSG rose 0.80% to the level of 6,236.13. Throughout the trading session, the index fluctuated within a range of 6,201.89 to 6,236.61.
Transaction value reached Rp17.85 trillion with a trading volume of 30.93 billion shares across 1.926 million transactions. A total of 455 stocks strengthened, 205 stocks weakened, and 303 stocks remained stagnant. The market capitalisation of the BEI was recorded at Rp10,923 trillion.
Based on data from Stockbit Sekuritas, foreign investors recorded a net sell of Rp70.18 billion across the market in the first session. Foreign buying value reached Rp1.82 trillion, while selling value reached Rp1.89 trillion.
Stocks most heavily sold by foreign investors included PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) at Rp113.56 billion, PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) at Rp55.71 billion, PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) at Rp44.92 billion, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) at Rp29.43 billion, and PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) at Rp19.06 billion.
Meanwhile, stocks most heavily collected by foreign investors were led by PT Timah Tbk (TINS) worth Rp109.82 billion, followed by PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) at Rp82.79 billion, PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) at Rp45.35 billion, PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) at Rp43.60 billion, and PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA) at Rp30.50 billion.
Sectorally, almost all indices ended the trading session in the green zone. The healthcare sector led the gains with a 2.85% increase, followed by basic materials at 2.37%, property at 2.26%, non-primary consumer goods at 1.57%, and technology at 0.74%. The financial sector was the only sector to close weaker, dropping by 0.12%.
In terms of index contributors, PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) was the largest contributor, adding 5.72 points to the IHSG. This was followed by PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) with 4.38 points, PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) with 3.61 points, PT Multipolar Technology Tbk (MLPT) with 3.57 points, PT Merdeka Gold Resources Tbk (MDKA) with 3.16 points, and PT Maha Properti Indonesia Tbk (MPRO) with 3.15 points.
On the other hand, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) was the largest index drag, reducing the index by 12.48 points, followed by PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) by 4.18 points, PT Alamtri Resources Indonesia Tbk (ADRO) by 1.01 points, PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR) by 1.01 points, and PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN) by 0.92 points.
Technically, the IHSG managed to close near its daily high and remained above the 20-day weighted moving average (WMA) situated around 6,170. As long as the IHSG can remain above this area, the opportunity to continue strengthening towards the 6,260-6,320 area remains open.
