JAKARTA - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) remained in positive territory until the close of the morning trading session on Monday (4/5/2026), although the strengthening was somewhat limited. According to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), the IHSG closed up slightly by 0.17% to the level of 6,968.523. The index strengthening initially formed at the start of trading but gradually slowed as selling pressure increased in several stocks. Nevertheless, the IHSG was still able to record a slight increase supported by several large-cap stocks. The index strengthening was supported by the rise in shares of PT Timah Tbk (TINS) which surged 6.7%, followed by PT Pantai Indah Kapuk Dua Tbk (PANI) which rose 3.0%, and PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) which strengthened 1.7%. “The market is still supported by the strengthening in TINS shares up 6.7%, PANI up 3.0%, and ASII up 1.7%,” stated Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia. “Meanwhile, GOTO down 5.6% and AADI 5.4% are actually weighing it down,” continued Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia. In terms of sectors, six out of eleven sectoral indices on the Indonesia Stock Exchange were recorded as strengthening until the morning session, with the cyclicals and non-cyclicals sectors being the main drivers of market movement. Positive sentiment towards the IHSG also came from the regional area. Major Asian stock exchanges moved in unison in the green zone, with strengthening led by the Seoul and Hong Kong exchanges, which in turn provided support for the IHSG’s movement in the morning trading session. From the trading activity side, the transaction volume reached 44.93 billion shares with a transaction value of Rp 14.89 trillion and a frequency of 1.57 million times. Stock movements were also relatively balanced, with 340 stocks strengthening, 320 stocks weakening, and 157 stocks stagnant.
