The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) managed to reverse course and strengthen during the first trading session on Friday (14/8/2026), amid President Prabowo Subianto’s address at the Annual Session of the MPR and the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD RI at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta.

The IHSG closed up 35.42 points, or 0.56%, at 6,337.19 at the end of the first session. Previously, the IHSG had closed on Thursday (13/8/2026) at 6,301.77.

The IHSG’s movement was quite volatile during the first session. The index briefly fell to a low of 6,267.41 before reversing to strengthen and touching a high of 6,343.11.

Based on data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange, by the end of the first session, 305 stocks had risen, 315 stocks had fallen, and 343 stocks were unchanged.

The total transaction value across all markets reached approximately Rp6.48 trillion, with a trading volume of 17.04 billion shares. Transaction frequency reached 1.03 million times.

The IHSG’s gain was supported by the majority of sectors. Of the 11 sectors, seven were in positive territory, while four others weakened.

The raw materials sector was one of the main supporters of the IHSG, rising 1.35%. The primary consumer goods sector then strengthened 1.12%, cyclical consumer goods 0.71%, technology 0.58%, industrials 0.47%, energy 0.42%, and property and real estate 0.09%.

On the other hand, the financial sector fell 0.21%, healthcare weakened 0.48%, and utilities declined 0.55%.

A number of stocks were the main drivers of the IHSG’s movement during the first session.

Shares of PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (VKTR) were the largest contributor, adding 5.91 points to the IHSG. VKTR shares were recorded at Rp905.

Next, PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) contributed 3.81 points, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) 3.13 points, PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk (EXCL) 2.17 points, and PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO) 1.81 points.

Meanwhile, pressure on the IHSG mainly came from shares of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), which reduced the index by 2.49 points.

PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) then weighed on the IHSG by 2.19 points, followed by PT Bayan Resources Tbk (BYAN) at 1.38 points, PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA) at 0.71 points, and PT Bank Permata Tbk (BNLI) at 0.56 points.

With the gain in the first session, the IHSG returned above the 6,300 level after having corrected 1.13% the previous day to 6,301.77.
