IHSG Rebounds 10.51% in July 2026, OJK Says Indonesian Capital Market Beginning to Recover
The Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) has stated that the nation’s capital market experienced a period of consolidation in the second quarter of 2026 but has begun to show significant signs of recovery at the start of the third quarter. The statement was made by OJK Board of Commissioners Chair Friderica Widyasari Dewi during a press conference following the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) meeting at the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) office on Monday. Friderica, known as Kiki, noted that the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed at 5,643.19 in Q2 2026, a correction of 19.93% quarter-to-quarter, a move she attributed to portfolio rebalancing by investors amid global market dynamics. However, the trend reversed sharply entering July 2026, with the IHSG closing at 6,236 on 31 July, strengthening 10.51% month-to-date. Kiki also reported that the Net Asset Value (NAV) of mutual funds stood at Rp652.9 trillion in Q2 2026, with the positive trend continuing into July as the NAV reached Rp663.26 trillion as of 30 July, a 1.59% quarter-to-quarter increase. Corporate fundraising activity also remained sustained in the domestic capital market, with total funds raised reaching Rp113.13 trillion year-to-date as of 31 July, including Rp98.27 trillion through debt securities and sukuk instruments.
