In the early session, the IHSG briefly touched a high of 7,166.55 and a low of 7,118.58.

Trading volume was recorded at 9.097 billion shares with a transaction value of Rp4.333 trillion and a frequency of 368,900 times. A total of 495 stocks strengthened, 115 weakened, and 348 remained stagnant.

On the other hand, market participants are still monitoring several sentiments that could influence the index’s movement going forward.

Head of Retail Research at MNC Sekuritas, Herditya Wicaksana, said the IHSG is still influenced by a combination of global and domestic sentiments.

“The IHSG is still influenced by global and domestic sentiments, particularly developments in the US-Iran conflict and the movement of world oil commodity prices, which remain a concern for investors,” he said, quoted from Kontan.

“The IHSG has the potential to strengthen in a limited manner with support at 6,947 and resistance at 6,986, amid sentiments still being monitored by investors,” he explained.

According to him, market participants will continue to monitor developments in geopolitical conflicts, world oil price movements, and the stability of the rupiah exchange rate. In line with these conditions, investors are advised to remain selective in choosing stocks.

One global sentiment that triggered a positive market response came from the easing of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

The President of the United States (US), Donald Trump, announced a temporary ceasefire agreement with Iran for two weeks following discussions with Pakistan as the conflict mediator.

“I agree to suspend bombing and attacks against Iran for a period of two weeks,” Trump wrote.

However, he emphasised that the step depends on Iran’s willingness to fully, safely, and promptly reopen traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

Previously, Trump had threatened to escalate attacks if Iran did not open the vital oil trade route.
