IHSG Opens Higher on 18 August 2026, Rising to 6,448
The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) showed positive performance at the start of trading on Tuesday morning. Based on trading data, the benchmark index of the Indonesian capital market opened significantly higher, continuing the trend of investor optimism on the trading floor. The IHSG was recorded to have risen by 46.94 points, or strengthened by 0.73 percent, bringing the index to a position of 6,448.83. This upward movement was also followed by the group of leading stocks included in the LQ45 index. The LQ45 index was observed to have risen by 2.83 points, or around 0.45 percent, to a level of 635.11. The strengthening at the start of this session reflects positive sentiment that has encouraged investor buying interest in large-capitalisation stocks as well as the index as a whole. Market participants will continue to monitor trading volume and the movement of the rupiah exchange rate throughout the day to assess the resilience of the IHSG’s upward momentum. As of the time this report was filed, trading activity on the exchange was still dominated by buying actions spread across several key sectors. Global and regional market conditions are also predicted to influence index fluctuations until the close of the second session later this afternoon. Investors are advised to continue paying attention to market dynamics and the release of domestic economic data that could affect the direction of share price movements.
