IHSG Opens Higher by 0.47% to 6,068 Amid Global Sentiment Shift
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) opened higher on Wednesday’s trading (15/7/2026), amid a backdrop of shifting global sentiment. The index rose 28.51 points, or 0.47%, to 6,068.03. A total of 222 stocks advanced, 72 declined, and 328 remained stagnant, with transaction value reaching Rp 124.74 billion from 205.18 million shares traded. The most actively traded stocks included BBCA, TPIA, BBRI, BMRI, and BUMI.
Global market sentiment was buoyed by the previous day’s release of two key macroeconomic data points signalling a fundamental shift. A sharper-than-expected slowdown in US inflation and China’s record trade surplus boosted investor confidence. Attention is also focused on upcoming remarks from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh.
On the domestic front, the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) updated its list of stocks with High Shareholding Concentration (HSC). As of Wednesday morning, the number of listed companies with highly concentrated ownership increased to 51. The BEI publishes this data to enhance market transparency and protect investors, as stocks with limited public float are more susceptible to price manipulation and liquidity issues.
Asian markets broadly rallied, driven by the cooling US inflation data. South Korea’s Kospi surged 6.3%, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 and Topix gained 0.9% each. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.6%. According to the CME Group’s FedWatch Tool, the probability of a rate hike at the July Federal Reserve meeting dropped to 17%, though markets still anticipate rates to be 25 to 50 basis points higher following the September meeting.
