IHSG on Thursday (21/5) Dips Below 6,100 as Foreign Sell ANTM, BBRI, and BMRI
Jakarta — The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed sharply lower on Thursday, 21 May 2026, after a 3.54% retreat or 224 points to 6,094.941, breaching the psychological level of 6,100. Selling pressure continued to dominate the market as foreign net selling reached Rp 508 billion. According to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), the largest foreign net seller was PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), with net sales of Rp 204 billion. The pressure was also evident on major banking stocks, such as PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) at Rp 146 billion and PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) at Rp 142 billion. In addition, foreigners also posted net sales on PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) amounting to Rp 135 billion, and PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) Rp 120 billion. Foreign buying occurred on PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) at Rp 173 billion, PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) Rp 88 billion, and PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MDKA) Rp 63 billion. PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA) also recorded foreign net buying of Rp 60 billion. Market breadth was broad-based with 663 equities falling, only 88 rising and 69 moving sideways. Turnover reached Rp 17.737 trillion with a trading volume of 35.176 billion shares and 2.13 million transactions. The BEI market capitalisation fell to Rp 10.576 trillion.
