IHSG in the Red for Fifth Consecutive Day as Foreign Investors Exit Key Stocks
Foreign investors continued to divest shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during Tuesday’s trading (15/09/2026). Large-cap banking stocks were the primary targets of the sell-off, with PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) recording the largest net foreign sell.
In total, foreign investors recorded a net foreign sell of Rp349.3 billion during yesterday’s session. This figure was derived from foreign buy transactions of Rp5.17 trillion, while sell transactions reached Rp5.519 trillion.
BMRI shares were the most heavily divested by foreign investors, with a net sell value of Rp282.9 billion. Following this, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) recorded a net sell of Rp99.9 billion, while PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) saw net selling of Rp95.8 billion.
Meanwhile, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) also appeared on the list of stocks most heavily sold by foreigners, with a net sell value of Rp33.5 billion.
Amidst this selling pressure, the Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG) closed lower by 1.13%, dropping 73.54 points to the 6,461.15 level. Consequently, the IHSG has remained in the red for the last five trading days.
