IHSG Falls to 7,228 in Morning Session as Major Bank Shares Weaken Uniformly

JAKARTA — Indonesia’s composite share index (IHSG) closed in negative territory at the end of the first trading session on Friday, 13 March 2026, as increased selling pressure drove a substantial correction exceeding 1 per cent.

According to Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) trading data, the IHSG fell 133.17 points, or 1.81 per cent, to 7,228.95 at 11.30 WIB.

During the morning session, the index opened at 7,338.82 and initially strengthened to reach a high of 7,350.28 before reversing course due to mounting selling pressure. The index touched a low of 7,188.08 before closing the first session around 7,228.

The industrial sector declined 2.98 per cent, non-essential consumer goods fell 2.79 per cent, and infrastructure weakened 2.75 per cent. Declines also occurred in the raw materials sector, which fell 2.57 per cent, followed by energy down 1.85 per cent, technology down 1.56 per cent, and essential consumer goods down 1.41 per cent.

The property and real estate sector fell 1.16 per cent, healthcare weakened 0.86 per cent, and the financial sector recorded the smallest decline at 0.44 per cent.

Of all shares traded, 595 stocks declined, 128 advanced, and 89 remained unchanged.

In the LQ45 index, PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) was the largest loser, falling 7.69 per cent, followed by PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT) which weakened 7.24 per cent and PT Merdeka Battery Minerals Tbk (MBMA) which fell 4.83 per cent.

Among advancing LQ45 shares, PT Alamtri Minerals Indonesia Tbk (ADMR) led gains with a rise of 4.79 per cent, whilst PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk (HEAL) advanced 2.71 per cent and PT Adaro Andalan Indonesia Tbk (AADI) rose 2.21 per cent.

The steepest decline occurred in PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI), which fell 140 points, or 2.82 per cent, to Rp 4,820 per share at the close of the first session.

PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) shares also weakened 1.12 per cent to Rp 3,530 per share. Over the past week, BBRI share prices have declined from around Rp 3,670.
